# Playbooks

Playbooks in Soal are pre-defined snippets of work that can be set up by the data team.

Each asset has a [notebook](/essentials/notebooks) and will show up in the suggestions from the [recommendation engine](/essentials/recommendation_engine) of a relevant question.

Playbooks are commonly used to define the 'proper' way to calculate a metric, conduct an analysis, etc... Admin users can designate an asset to be `verified` to indicate that it is correct and officially approved for use.
